Abbas Agbaje

Managing Consultant ImpactCrest Consulting

Abbas Agbaje is an ESG and Impact professional with over 10 years of experience supporting the
integration of environmental and social (climate, gender and impact) lens in investment advisory and
operations for multimillion-dollar projects in sub-Saharan Africa. He is the Managing Consultant at
ImpactCrest Consulting and an Environmental and Social Safeguards and Compliance Consultant with
the African Development Bank. Previously, he worked as Vice-President, ESG and Social Impact at
Kuramo Capital Limited, ESG and Social Impact Manager at InfraCredit, and Director/Senior ESG
Consultant at EBS Advisory Services (now EY-Parthenon).
Abbas has led various ESG engagements working with development partners such as AfDB, World Bank
Group, BII, DEG, KfW, GuarantCo, InfraCo Africa, AFC, and other reputable local and international
institutions. Key areas of experience expertise include Environmental and Social Impact Assessment
(ESIA), Environmental Audit, Environmental and Social Management Systems, Environmental and
Sustainability Training, Climate Strategy, Sustainability Reporting (UN PRI and GRI), GHG inventory and reporting, Biodiversity Assessments, Green Finance (Bonds and loans), Impact Framework Design and Development, Impact Measurement, Monitoring, and Reporting.

Abbas has professional membership and affiliation with the Institute of Environmental Management and
Assessment (IEMA), United Kingdom, the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA), Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Association of Nigeria (COSFAN), and the Nigeria Environmental Society (NES).

A volunteer member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) Sustainability Policy
Commission since 2019, he recently got nominated as the Adjunct Technical Anchor for the Policy
Commission, contributing policy dialogue, advocacy, and research.
